About

The Glasgow City Region Community Benefits Hub brings together our local Community Groups with Businesses delivering contracts for participating councils and organisations across the Region.

Community Groups can post up Requests for goods, services or resources that can then be met and delivered by Businesses. This allows communities to make Requests that deliver a real, positive impact for local people, and allows Businesses to find and support local causes and Requests that align with their business goals and contribute to Corporate Social Responsibility.

Community Groups and Businesses need to register to join the website and meet certain conditions.

The Community Benefits Hub is free to use and is managed by Glasgow City Region. Participating Glasgow City Region councils are:

  • East Renfrewshire Council
  • Glasgow City Council
  • North Lanarkshire Council

FAQs

What are Community Benefits?

Community Benefits are benefits – such as goods, services, voluntary work, employment, or financial support – delivered to or received by local communities and non-profit organisations.

All businesses contracting with the public sector are required to consider Community Benefit requirements as part of procurement, such as committing to delivering some form of social impact as part of winning and delivering a contract.

Who can use the Community Benefits Hub?

The Community Benefits Hub is open to Community Groups and Businesses that meet certain conditions. More information on eligibility can be found on the Guidance for Community Groups or Guidance for Businesses pages.

How do I register?

You can register to join the Community Benefits Hub by completing a short form as a Community Group or as a Business. You will need to set up an account and password, before providing some basic information about your Group or Business.

Your Community Group or Business details will then be sent to your Local Council for approval.

Is there an approval process for new Registrations and Requests?

Yes, new Community Group and Business registrations are sent to the Local Council to review any details and approve the account on the Community Benefits Hub.

Each Request for goods, services or other support from a Community Group will also be sent to the Local Council to approve before it is visible to Businesses registered on the site.

This registration process is designed to be as simple as possible, while still ensuring the website is safe, reliable, and for the benefit of local communities. This moderation process allows us to ensure that Groups, Businesses and Requests on the website are legitimate, meet the required conditions and provide a real benefit to local people.

Will my email address receive unsolicited emails/spam?

We ask for your email address as part of registration as you will need to receive emails informing you of your status on the Community Benefits Hub, including any updates to your registration or to Requests posted. It is important that you use a live email address as you will receive important emails about your status or any required actions on the Community Benefits Hub. This does not include unsolicited advertisements, or any communications not directly related to important actions on the Hub.

Additionally, Glasgow City Region or one of our member councils may be in further contact. This does not include registration to any automated mailing lists or spam. If you do not wish to be contacted further, beyond the mandatory emails above, you can confirm this in writing to: communitybenefitshub@glasgow.gov.uk

Why is my council not listed even though it is part of Glasgow City Region?

The Community Benefits Hub has been recently launched by Glasgow City Region. At this point, not all of our partner councils are participating.
